strategies to prevent drug and alcohol addiction

relapse prevention and aftercare for addiction recovery
Our objective is to provide the understanding, the motivation and the skills to help residents succeed on their path toward recovery. We help them recognize recovery as a process or a journey that requires their ongoing participation. Each aspect of our comprehensive program is designed to prevent relapse and help residents feel secure in their transition home because they have learned to be proactive in their own lives.
- Personal Identity that develops and continues to cultivate the true self, while allowing the false self to disintegrate
- Healthy Boundaries and Personal Validation that reinforce the true self
- Lifestyle Enhancement that helps residents maintain balance, direction and focus.
- Nutritional Support that reduces cravings and helps maintain health of body and mind to facilitate active involvement in their recovery and clarity of thinking
- Fitness Program that keeps the body healthy and provides reinforcement for maintaining discipline
- Spiritual Focus that teaches them to depend on God
- Critical Life Skills Training that provides important methods of interacting with others
- Knowledge about their disease and how to make better choices
- Self-Help Techniques to reduce stress and ease pain through natural means
Our objective for After-Care is to remain connected to, and supportive of, those who graduate from our program. We strongly encourage residents to remain connected to us through our After-Care Program, which provides ongoing counseling support, as well as on-line psycho education programs and regularly scheduled gatherings and retreat programs.
Key Elements of Our After-Care Program
- Ongoing Counseling Support to residents and their family members to help them through the challenging process of transition and to aid them with their continued growth process throughout recovery. This service is available online and by telephone as well as at the Institute’s campus.
- Online Recovery Education Programs to provide a social context in which our previous residents can reconnect with each other and be available to provide inspiration to those who are just beginning their path of recovery.
- Alumni Gatherings to provide a social context in which our previous residents can reconnect with each other and be available to provide inspiration to those who are just beginning their path of recovery.
- Retreat Programs to offer a social vehicle for residents to learn and grow together with others who have been through our program. These programs are offered throughout the year and continue the journey toward lasting recovery.
