Healing the Underlying Factors of Addiction Individual and Group Counseling Faith-Based Addiction Recovery Christian Addiction Rehabilitation | Addiction Rehab from a Christian PerspectiveDrug & Alcohol Recovery Needs God A Christian program of addiction recovery acknowledges that addicts and those in recovery are not alone in life, facing their demons and struggles without access to a God who loves and cares for them. Regardless of how far a person has wandered, or what wrongs they have done, God has not abandoned them. Proof comes from Scripture, which reveals a God that is with His people even in their darkest hour, especially when they recognize Jesus as the light that shines in the darkness. (John 1:5). At St. Joseph Institute, the seminars and lessons that bring healing from addiction draw from the teachings of our Christian faith. We find strength in the knowledge that Christ died for our sins and wants us to be whole. In the Bible we find countless lessons that enable us to discern the path forward, leading away from the power of drugs and alcohol. Through Christian addiction rehab, residents come to know the truth in the Lord’s words to Paul when He said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). The best practices of medicine, psychology, counseling, bodywork, and nutrition are critical building blocks on the road to recovery. So, too, is the spiritual healing that enables us to address the wounds and hurts of life that so often form the underlying foundation of addictive behavior. Christian drug and alcohol treatment recognizes that when we invite the power of God to guide the healing process, great things can happen. As a Christian addiction treatment facility we believe that “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). Our approach to faith-based recovery is non-denominational. We do not represent a specific Christian tradition or seek to proselytize. The primary goal of our staff is to help residents find better ways to live drug and alcohol free. We believe that Christian faith should be evident in how we act. In this regard, we are inspired by the words of St. Francis, who instructed his friars to “speak the Gospel always, and when necessary, use words.” Living these words helps us create an authentic Christian community that reaches out to addicted individuals, welcoming them into our community, providing a sense of belonging and healthy structure, and teaching them new patterns of behavior that place them solidly on the road to recovery.
