Jenny Sheetz, Founder of the St. Joseph Institute. Jenny Sheetz, MA, CN is President and Founder of St. Joseph Institute, Director of the Laurel Wellness Center and Director of the Institute for Holistic Studies. She has 20 years of experience as a bodyworker, professional counselor, nutritionist, author and teacher. Jenny holds a BS in Biology and an MA in Christian Counseling. She is also trained in: Therapeutic Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming, Process Acupressure, Neurofacial Release, nerve Mobilization, Biofeedback and Nutrition.
Dr. Hugh Newman III is the Institute's Medical Director.  A graduate of Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, he is the Director of the Neurotrauma Rehabilitation Program at HEALTHSOUTH Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as Chairman of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the Altoona Regional Health System. His professional affiliations include AAPM&R, AOA, POMA, PA Medical Society, and the Blair County Medical Society. Electrodiagnostic Studies and Osteopathic Manipulation are among the procedures Dr. Newman uses.

Dr. Bill Hanlon, PT, DPT, MSPT, OCS is a licensed Physical Therapist and board certified orthopedic clinical specialist, whose coursework has included Physical Therapy Diagnostics, Physical Therapy Ethics, Outcomes measurement in Physical Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology, Pharmacology and Clinical Decision Making. He is an Associate Professor of Physical Therapy at St. Francis University.
ORTHOPEDIC coursework: Extremity Assessment & Mobilization, Practicum in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy Assessment & Treatment Techniques, Anatomic Basis of Peripheral Nerve Injuries and a Masters Research Project studying one component of Lower Back Pain: pelvic malalignment.
PHYSIOLOGY coursework: Cardiovascular Physiology in Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Dysfunction, Advanced Neuromuscular Physiology and Functional Neurophysiology.

Barb Diehl, BS, CMT is a Bodywork Therapist at the Laurel Wellness Center and an Instructor at St. Joseph Institute for Holistic Studies. She has over 10 years of experience as a massage therapist and a teacher.  Barb holds a BS in Education. She is a certified Infant Massage Instructor and has a National Certification in Massage Therapy. As a member of the Medical Spa team, Barb specializes in Lymph Massage, Essential Acupressure and Process Therapy following the protocols designed and taught by the Institute’s Director. Barb also leads our team of specialists who apply therapeutic black mud to the body to facilitate detoxification.
Kristin Martin, MS, CMT is a Bodywork Therapist at the Laurel Wellness Center. Graduate of St. Joseph Institute for Holistic Studies, she currently teaches Anatomy and Physiology, as well as Exercise Science for the Institute. She has 10 years of experience in Fitness Education and Training. Kristin holds a BS in Kinesiology and an MS in Exercise Science. As a member of the Medical Spa team, Kristin specializes in designing exercise and fitness programs, as well as providing the following manual therapies: Therapeutic Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Structural Alignment, Essential Acupressure, Applied Neurology and Process Therapy.
John A. Joseph, DC has been in practice for 24 years, since graduating from Sherman Chiropractic College. He uses a variety of chiropractic techniques, including Pierce Stillwagon, Diversified, Thompson, and mechanical adjusting instrumentation. He has had additional training in Occupational Health Consulting. Dr. Joseph specializes in Enzyme Nutrition, holding an advanced certification from the Loomis Institute.
Lois A. Ehrmann, PhD, LPC earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision/ Rehabilitation Services with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. With over 20 years of counseling experience, she has licenses/certifications and special training in the following areas: PA Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, PA Certified Addictions Counselor, National Certified Master Addictions Counselor, International Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, PA Certified Clinical Supervisor/Chemical Dependency, Registered Attachment Focused Therapist, Certified Therapist in EMDR. Dr. Ehrmann specializes in helping families heal from trauma.
